We treat your beloved pet as a family member and hope to make him or her feel safe, comfortable and loved while you are away. We have replaced metal bars and the cage atmosphere with roomy suites, comfy beds, and glass doors for our canine boarders. We want our pet clinic to feel spacious and accommodating during your pet’s stay with us.
Each dog staying with us is taken on a walk four times daily. Their area is cleaned, they’re given fresh blankets and beds, plenty of water and lots of love. Our trained veterinary staff gives individual attention to each pet, utilizing Fear Free techniques to make them feel calm, comfortable, and happy throughout their entire visit.
We take every precaution to keep your pets safe during their stay with us. Dogs are walked using a double leashing method in which one leash is converted into a harness. This keeps your dog securely connected to our staff members at all times during their walk.
Additionally, we require all dogs to be completely up to date on their rabies, distemper, Bordetella and Canine Influenza vaccines. Similarly, our feline boarders are also required to be up to date on their rabies and FVRCP vaccines. We also require that cats test negative for feline leukemia and FIV prior to their stay at our pet clinic’s boarding facility.
We strive to make our feline boarders as comfortable as possible during their stay with us. Cat boarding is kept in a separate room at the front of the clinic. Each cat will have its own condo with safe cubbies to enjoy, their own litter box, and perches to sit in the sun and watch out the window.
How should you prepare for a stay at our clinic’s boarding facility?
Feel free to bring any blankets, beds, or toys you think your pet might like to have. As long as they do not pose a health or safety concern, we would love for your pet to have comforts from home. If you do not wish to bring bedding along, don’t worry! We have plenty of blankets and beds to share with your pets while they stay with us.
Please bring your pet’s food and medications from home. We will get detailed instructions from you when you drop off your pet to indicate your preferences for feeding or medicating your pet.
It is not necessary for you to bring food bowls, litter boxes or litter with you unless your pet has a specific need for these items. We have plenty to use for all our boarding pets during their stay.
Lastly, don’t worry! We will give your pet lots of love and care while you’re gone. You can even leave us your email address so that we can send you pictures and updates during your pet’s stay! Pet owners from Springfield, MO, Battlefield, MO, Nixa, MO, Republic, MO and beyond all trust Healing Paws Veterinary Clinic as their pet’s home away from home when it’s time for an upcoming trip or vacation!
